The Stem Cell Society Singapore (SCSS) announces the Overseas Travel Fellowship Programme 2018 (OTFP18). The objective is to support eligible individuals to attend stem cell related overseas conferences in the calendar year 2018.
 
The fellowship provides support for costs related to attending overseas conferences up to a total of S$2,500. Candidates will be selected by the Society based on financial need and the scientific merit of the submitted abstract. Funds will be distributed to the successful candidates on a reimbursement basis and upon submission of an itemized invoice accompanied by original receipts.
 
Eligibility Criteria

  1. You must be an active Student or Ordinary member of the SCSS.
  2. All students presently conducting Ph.D. research in a Singapore-based laboratory are eligible to apply. An explanation of the student’s status, if not enrolled in a local degree-granting program, must accompany the application, e.g. ARAP, AGS(O) 2+2.
  3. You must either present a poster (first author) or deliver an oral presentation.
  4. You may be asked to submit a short meeting report to the SCSS after your return that may be published on our webpage.
  5. We will consider applications from those who have already received partial funding to attend the conference. Such funding will be taken into consideration for determining the final award amount by the SCSS.

Submit the following documents online by following the button below before Wednesday, January 31, 2018.
 
The following documents are required:

  1. Cover letter and CV: Provide a letter stating which conference you would like to attend and how your career will benefit from attending this meeting. The letter also needs to clearly explain the financial need for funding.
  2. Letter of Support from your Principal Investigator / Supervisor. The letter must state that you are either a Ph.D. student or a postdoc within the first 6 years after obtaining a Ph.D.
  3. Abstract. Please attach your abstract that you have already or will submit as a Word document.

Result Notification Date
 
You will be notified of the outcome of your application before 15 February 2018.
